The Frenchtown I Solar, LLC Facility is a 3 MWac utility scale photovoltaic system located in Kingwood Township, Hunterdon County. The facility was constructed on a residentially zoned parcel that was an in active agricultural use. The facility is situated on a State highway and utilizes an offsite 34.5kV distribution line for interconnection with the power grid.
Engineering & Land Planning participated in the initial site selection process, identifying the potential regulatory issues associated with the project. E&LP applied for and received Municipal use variance and site plan approval, County planning board approval and soil conservation certification for this project. E&LP also applied for and received a Delaware and Raritan Canal Commission exemption and an NJDOT minor access permit for the project. E&LP also delineated NJDEP regulated features on the project site and received a Wetlands Letter of Interpretation and a Flood Hazard Area Verification. E&LP also participated in the preparation of the NJDCA construction permitting phase of the project and provided construction support to the EPC contractor.
