Hoboken Washington Street

E&LP developed and prepared a grant proposal to New Jersey Environmental
Infrastructure Trust (NJEIT) for the City of Hoboken’s Washington Street
project. The grant proposal was for the acquisition and design of a new
water main and green infrastructure improvements in preparation of the
Washington Street modernization project.

The City will also incorporate green infrastructure and low impact development
strategies (i.e. shade trees, rain garden curb extensions, porous asphalt, etc.)
along Washington Street to reduce stormwater run-off, urbanized flooding
and the urban heat island effect as well as improve the ecological value of the
corridor through a “Green Streets” approach.
