E&LP provided engineering design services for the two most recent additions to the Bourbon Street chain of liquor stores. For the Bethlehem, NJ location, a former abandoned commercial property was chosen to be redeveloped. The lot was located completely within wetland and stream buffers and was highly constrained. E&LP received individual wetlands permits to allow the expansion of the property by providing wetland mitigation plantings in degraded areas. Site plan and variance approvals were obtained from the Township along with NJDOT access permits for the 8,000 SF store.
For the Phillipsburg location, a former car wash was chosen as the redevelopment site. The site contained multiple environmental concerns from former uses as a garage and gas station. Eight buried tanks were uncovered and remediated concurrently with the construction of the new store to allow for closure of the environmental case to seamlessly align with the overall construction project. Full design through construction was completed in 18 months.
