In 2014, E&LP lead a design team through the Philadelphia Community Design Collaborative for James Dobson Elementary School. E&LP provided site, landscape, green infrastructure, stormwater, site furnishing, and playground design for the project. In addition, E&LP organized and led public task force meetings and participated in community engagement regarding the project.
The final design integrates a green infrastructure ‘Rain Channel’ which adapts to the program adjacent to it such as seating, basketball bleachers, an outdoor classroom, and innovative play space. All materials and plantings proposed for the site are locally sourced and native to the region.
