Ringwood is home to a large Superfund site which has been in remediation for decades. An important goal of the Borough is the reuse of these landfill/mine sites as the cleanups become completed.

E&LP was contracted by the Borough to provide a reuse of the O’Connor Landfill for which a replacement recycling center was proposed. The recycling center will utilize the newest technologies to ensure maximum return to the Borough on the recyclable materials.

Numerous approvals are required for the redevelopment from the State to the local levels and the project will require unique and thorough planning to ensure proper closure of the landfill and successful reuse.
