E&LP is working with the Big SandBox, Love Futbol, and Street Soccer USA on playground and site improvements at the Tanner G. Duckrey School. E&LP is the lead landscape architect and civil engineer of record on the project coordinating all design submissions to the SDP, PWD, and permitting for the project. At over five acres the Duckrey School has had a master plan in place for years that is now being realized in phases. Building off of a first phase which was executed internally by the SDP, E&LP’s work is adding new site improvements for older aged play structures, a fitness loop, fitness equipment, and a mini-soccer pitch. E&LP is working with steep topography across the site to integrate the new equipment with in-situ slopes and maintain accessibility. Several canopy shaded fitness rooms have been located along a new fitness track which will be open to school student use as well as the community. Existing basketball courts are being refurbished with new goals and posts as well as repainting and striping. Finally, E&LP is working with a number of vendors to build the first ever mini-soccer pitch on School District property in Philadelphia. The field is being constructed on top of the existing pavement so as to be non-invasive and allow for stormwater management to be unimpeded. New site furnishings are also being added around the pitch for school and community use.
