Last week, the City of Princeton approved the Griggs Corner mixed-use building[1] major site plan, which advances this infill development that will enhance the Central Business District by adding streetscape improvements, restaurant and retail space, and eight residential units. The commercial space will occupy the basement and first floor while the second and third floors will have three flats and five duplexes that will incorporate green infrastructure such as two green roof areas and pervious pavers in the courtyard areas. The building will be designed to LEED Silver standards and the off-site parking will include two electric vehicle charging spots with room for expansion. To honor the site’s namesake, Mr. Burnett Griggs, a monument will be placed at the corner where he operated Grigg’s Imperial Restaurant.[2]

E&LP’s Matthew Connors, PE, Associate, provided testimony during the meeting and has been the lead civil engineer on the project that is near the Princeton Historic District. E&LP provided engineering, landscape architecture, and surveying services including boundary & topographic survey, concept phase plans, preliminary & final site plans, and stormwater management report and plan.
