In Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, E&LP with Larry Weaner Landscape Associates’ design team are currently performing a full feasibility study of the West Laurel Hill Cemetery & Funeral Home including mitigation of steep slopes, streambank stabilization and restoration, and stormwater management improvements. The West Laurel Hill Cemetery seeks to restore and enhance their historical Pencoyd Entrance, which is precariously situated between a steep slope, stream, and existing busy roadway and parking lot. The Cemetery’s objectives for the project are to control invasive species, enhance the area with native plantings, and incorporate burial locations where appropriate. E&LP is conducting a full wetland and streambank delineation on site as well as a pre-application meeting with PADEP to comprehensively vet the regulatory compliance path for the project and develop informed costs and timelines for subsequent phases of the project.
E&LP’s Wetland Scientist, Matt Popin, PWS, and Landscape Architect & Project Engineer, Pearl May, PLA, EIT, perform a wetland delineation at the West Laurel Hill Cemetery for the stream restoration project. We would like to congratulate Matt Popin, PWS on recently receiving his Professional Wetlands Scientist license from the Society of Wetland Scientists Professional Certification Program.
