In addition to providing the preliminary & final major site plan & minor subdivision for Dakota Power Partners’ recently approved 70 MW Harmony Plains Solar Farm, E&LP has provided Flood Hazard Area Evaluation engineering services for their 50MW Nabb Solar I facility that was approved in January by the Millville Planning Board in Cumberland County. Featuring moving panels to track the sun and increase efficiency, this farm will have an electrical system “of 1500v DC below-ground collection system, a 34.5 kV AC above-ground collection system, and a 69 kV above-ground tie-line about 1,950 feet in length linking the solar farm with a new substation … which will be built by Dakota.”[1] Moreover, the project is eco-friendly and will use “no fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides,” “consume no water and generate no wastewater, which means healthier rivers, lakes, and aquifers,” and include “native, pollinator-friendly grasses as groundcover to protect against erosion and to increase biodiversity at the sites.”[2] According to the press release, Nabb Solar I will “begin operation in the fall of 2022”[3] and will advance sustainability in New Jersey and its Energy Master Plan (EMP).
