We are excited to share that the “Ocean County Board of Commissioners is moving ahead with the [new Ocean County] park plans and will soon be applying for the necessary permits.”[1]

E&LP is managing the permitting and has led the design of the new Ocean County Park, which will be centered on sustainability and resiliency[2]: “The ~215 acre future County Park site located on Rt. 571 in Manchester Township was acquired by The County of Ocean in 2019, from private owners, as well as a donation from the Township of Manchester, is bound by Rt. 547 and the railroad tracks[3]. The parcel is also bisected by Ridgeway Blvd, creating a unique opportunity for the development of a County Park which offers both active, and passive recreation in a single park.”[4]

According to Manchester Township Mayor Robert Hudak, some of the new County Park’s amenities will include “‘a comfort station, flag area, picnic pavilions, water fountains, playground, pickle ball court, and other athletic fields.’”[5] Gary Quinn, Director of the Ocean County Board of Commissioners, emphasized the successful cooperation in creating the park and its future legacy: “‘Partnerships like this one are what help in our efforts to bring access to open space and recreational opportunities to all of our residents … We are all stakeholders in this project and we all take pride in providing premiere parks for the people that call Ocean County home. Working together, this will bring a lot of recreational and environmental benefits to the area.”[6]
