E&LP was among OLIN’s partners on the Circular Soil Initiative project that was awarded the Innovation category of this year’s Excellence in Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) Awards; the region’s only award ceremony recognizing the projects and people that bring the triple bottom line (environmental, social, and economic) benefits of green stormwater infrastructure to life.[1] This ongoing research study that began last year is studying the efficacy of a refined soil product engineered from glass waste. As highlighted in earlier posts, we are 6-months into a planned 12-months of monitoring program for drainage, water quality, and plant health to evaluate the suitability of glass-cullet as a sustainable replacement for sand in green stormwater infrastructure systems.
We are honored to have been named amongst the finalists for the Innovation category and ultimately bestowed the excellence award. We celebrate alongside OLIN, Remark Glass and the rest of the project team for this significant acknowledgement.
