Maria Carlota Costallat de Macedo Soares is a Brazilian, self-taught landscape architect known for her design and urban planning of the Flamengo Park in Rio de Janeiro. The park consists of a large botanical garden, a museum, and recreational spaces for visitors. It is one of the largest urban parks in Brazil spanning 296 acres, it is believed to be inspired by Central Park in New York.
