Guillermo Díaz-Fañas is a Dominican national and civil engineer with international experience who specializes in recovery and disaster planning. In 2018, he was honored as a New Face of Civil Engineering by the ASCE. He also founded the Queer Advocacy Knowledge Exchange (Qu-AKE) that serves as a network to support LGBTQ+ professionals with visibility and community.

Simon Crowther, based in the UK, is an award-winning civil engineer & flooding specialist recognized by Forbes’ 2018 “30 under 30” list. He founded his own company while still a student in university and his work focuses on raising awareness of and reducing flood risk.

Maria Carlota Costallat de Macedo Soares is a Brazilian, self-taught landscape architect known for her design and urban planning of the Flamengo Park in Rio de Janeiro. The park consists of a large botanical garden, a museum, and recreational spaces for visitors. It is one of the largest urban parks in Brazil spanning 296 acres, it is believed to be inspired by Central Park in New York.
