E&LP is excited to see Phase 2 of Sgt. George Ashby Memorial Park coming to life with the start of construction this spring. This latest phase realizes two key tenets of the Master Plan, Sustainability and Memorial, with the installation of a number of native landscape elements and the integration of a monument plaza honoring Sgt. Ashby and the Borough’s many veterans. A wildflower meadow, rain gardens, and tree grove will be established in the coming months creating a new landscape of contemplation, commemoration, and resilience in the heart of Allentown. We cannot wait to see the rest of this important public space take shape over the summer.
