E&LP completed due diligence (Phase I Environmental Assessment and Phase II Environmental Site Investigation) for a prospective development site in West New York, New Jersey, identifying historic fill material in exceedance of NJDEP Soil Remediation Standards across the property. In accordance with NJDEP regulations, E&LP assisted the Client in developing a plan to achieve residential development despite the presence of contaminated fill material. The proposed remedy includes a combination of off-site disposal and on-site reuse utilizing engineering and institutional controls. The project is currently being completed under E&LP LSRP oversight.

E&LP Senior Staff Scientist, MaryKate Chorazak, responds to the site when a layer of oily-water is observed within a known, previously abandoned Underground Storage Tank (UST).
