We are proud to announce that Northwest Resiliency Park received the Excellence Award in Water Resources Protection and Planning from the New Jersey Section of the American Water Resources Association. The planning, design, and construction of Northwest Resiliency Park is a great achievement for E&LP as the Prime Consultant for Hoboken’s largest 6-acres urban public park.
NJ Section of the American Water Resources Association appoints annual awards in water resources protection and planning. The projects are outstanding examples of water resources projects in New Jersey, including those focused on groundwater management, stormwater management, and ecological restoration. The projects demonstrate an innovative and effective approach to water resources.
Our nomination focused on the NWRP design that mitigates localized and neighborhood-wide flooding through capturing and detaining over 1-million gallons of stormwater runoff from the surrounding sewershed, as well as from the site itself. Detaining right-of-way runoff from the adjacent neighborhood alleviates demand on the City’s water treatment facility during large storms which reduces the frequency of combined sewer overflow (CSO) events into the Hudson River.
We are proud of our team and ability to have local recognition of our hard work that reminds us of our strong power to create solutions that inspire through the innovation of the natural and built environment.
