Last week, our staff visited some of our 2022 project sites that are part of the Fiesta Schoolyard Initiative. We were joined by representatives from the Philadelphia School District, the Lindy Foundation, and the Q-Group to inspect the installations. E&LP was part of the design upgrades for these schoolyard projects which included colorfully painted hardscapes and vibrant amenities to transform the empty asphalt lots into bright play areas. The Fiesta Schoolyards initiative was birthed out of the desire to supply children in Philadelphia clean, safe, affordable, and dynamic play spaces that are non-invasive to the existing sites and accessible for all ages and abilities. Some features include picnic tables, turf tunnels, buddy benches, and painted elements like the basketball courts, hopscotch, and running tracks. What a better way to give back to one of our communities than by being a part of enhancing the learning environments of the children?
