Congrats to Laura Craig, PhD, our Water Resources Department, and Sovereign Consulting on procuring the ecological restoration project at Mermaid Park in Whitpain Township, PA. This undertaking will include study, design, and permitting for several improvements at the park including dam removal and impoundment restoration; demolition and removal of a swimming pool; emergency spillway, and other infrastructure in the 100-year floodplain; daylighting of 500-ft of piped stream; restoration of the floodplain and riparian buffer; and improvements to an existing spring-fed farm pond.

This is a proud milestone for our developing Water Resources Team as this project will be a great addition to their stream restoration experience, especially given all of the interesting project elements. A well-deserved win for the books!
