We are proud of our employees here at E&LP and cannot overlook our valuable interns as we reflect on our growing team. We are so grateful to have had such bright and eager interns who chose to accept full-time positions at E&LP after their internships! We could go on and on about how great our employees are, but instead, we decided to give them the microphone and ask them exactly why they decided to start their careers at E&LP. Here’s what some of them had to say:

“I stayed because as soon as I got situated with the company, E&LP began offering me (and still does) ways to explore my interests in the broad range of civil engineering. By exposing me to all types of projects, they helped me realize I was passionate about projects involving sustainability, green stormwater infrastructure, and environmental remediation – and then started giving me these types of projects to work on.” – James McGillen

“I chose to return to E&LP full time because I learned so much when I was doing my internship that I was able to apply immediately to my studies. I was able to use a lot of the experience and knowledge of CAD and use it directly with my senior project. I also enjoyed the work environment, where questions and learning were encouraged, and everyone was always willing to lend me a hand with whatever project I was struggling with!” – Josh Sentie

“I decided to stay here at E&LP for several reasons….  E&LP always was flexible and understanding of each employees’ individual needs when it comes to work-from-home vs in-office hours. Most people here have raised or are currently raising children so they know how important it is for an employer to work with their employees in regards to schedule.

More than that, I enjoyed the quality of people here at E&LP.  We’re a blend of different personalities and we come from all different backgrounds and from various parts of the area. The feel of the company culture was always appealing to me. Looking in from the outside, during my internships, I could recognize the bonds the staff had built.  Working at the office I could feel the family-oriented culture and that was very attractive to me. I don’t want to feel like a cog in a wheel, I want to work somewhere that I’m appreciated and respected as a part of a team; a member of the work-family.” – Ken Schrader

“I chose to stay at ELP for the work environment and field work. The environmental team has always been a close collaborating team. I would not want to be somewhere that made me feel like just a number. Here, I can voice my opinion and be heard. Second, I am someone who needs constant change to keep myself challenged and motivated. My position from Jr. scientist to project scientist has provided me with that by balancing field work and office work.” – Krista Veliky

The appreciation really does go both ways and we couldn’t be prouder of the bonds we’ve built and support we’ve been able to offer to all of our interns.
