Pennypack Park Playground will be a destination all-inclusive playground for all of Philadelphia. The playground will be thoughtfully designed to provide a safe, barrier-free place where children of all ages and abilities can play together. The design is inspired by the nearby Pennypack Creek with the idea of a sensory-rich play experience in mind. Highlights of the design include a welcome plaza, misting station, 2-5 year-old play area, 5-12 year-old play area, picnic groves, music discovery path, a tree house, timber climbing structure and nature paths. All play elements are being orchestrated to achieve the six Cs of playful learning; collaboration, communication, content, critical thinking, creative innovation, and confidence.
